FACE THE MUSIC WITH STYLE.
DISCOVER THE DIAMOND IN THE RUFF.
Don't just zone-out as the product of the environment but explore it and discover the character within.
In brief, 'What mental illness taught me is that I give power to what I give my focus and attention to'. The VOX acting method is an approach to acting developed by American film/theater practitioner, Joel Brown. The goal of the new acting method is for the actor to not focus on the role that the environment plays on them, but instead concentrate on becoming a better version of the character in that situation that is trying to squeeze them into its mode.
The VOX SUPRActors
Not all superheroes wear capes.
some wear robes and carry lightsabers.
We are part time actors and troupers.
Full Time awkward Tweenagers
who take to striking a pose
and acting out characters
to save the world
in your not-so-superb way,
through their circle of influence, acting
by changing their sphere-of-influence
In the movie and fashion world.
one photo and one film at a time.
just partaking in one supernal plan.
that is beyond ourselves
that makes us supernatural.
but, its what they do beTWEEN
being on and off-screen that
makes a difference in their success.
One tween.
One spiel.
Can change the world.
What do actors have to work on to get better at acting? Don't worry about what you don't know. The actor has to develop his body. The actor has to work on his voice. But the most valuable thing the actor has to work on is his mind. An ounce of behavior is worth a pound of words. Conflict is what creates drama. The more conflict actors find, the more interesting the performance, but it takes courage and creativity to survive an audition yet walk in love through conflicts that arise so you can be a good steward of your reputation. Every time you read these words of encouragement become inspired and focused, so you can keep a good head on your shoulders. The goal for this book is to be a quick read, word of encouragement for actors.
There's an ethereal playing card game going around, that does more than any actor could think, ask, or imagine; to pull out their greatness and develop the best version of themselves, that helps them harness and learn to use their gift of acting as a superpower to shift atmospheres and turn traumatic evil into something good, by becoming a suprACTOR. But, no actor knows the date or time they will get the package until the day the game begins.

The VOX Acting Approach is an approach to acting developed by American film/theater practitioner Joel Brown. The goal of the VOX approach is for the actor to not focus on drowning-out facing-the-music and instead concentrate on the sounds in the environment to become the character the situation is trying to shape you into. The purpose of this new acting technique is to provide the basic techniques and approaches to VOX acting. Covers the fundamentals of unconscious awareness, the psychology of music: rhythm and movement, and creating Kairos moments out of various ambience. VOX Acting is intended to be another acting technique for actors. The technique allows the actor to experiment with the sounds of their environment, the urge to move to music, and improvisation to various ambience. The idea for a course will be remote and verbally oriented with the emphasis on doing, with it in mind for the students to prepare acting scenes which will be directed and performed at home and on-location for an audience of one. The technique is designed to provide actors with specific acting exercises based on sounds that enable them to create different characters, emotions, and situations under the pressure of their environment for film and theater. The actors will learn to control the outcome and create your own Kairos moments for every action to reaction in a situation.
An environment plays a role in an actor; it is THE PRODUCT OF THE ENVIRONMENT ITSELF that is the character leading you intuitively to discovering the role you never saw yourself playing.
What an actor does in a given environment, is not similar to what the environment does to an actor in everyday life. For example: Deplace a countryman in a New York City neighborhood, where the loud traffic and rowdy neighbors never stop, plays a role in trying to shape him into being the product of its environment, yet he had a song within him that keeps his peace and creates his own Kairos moment to be the character he was created to be.
So, the environment produces character and can be flipped the other way around.
As an actor playing a role who cannot love those they see, they cannot reasonably claim to love those they cannot see is called moving from the "seen" to the "unseen". We see this in John 3:16. This verse explicitly declares that a person cannot truly love God while hating other people. The person who claims to love God must also show love for others.

“When you have an actor doing something by themselves, that becomes interesting.
-Courtnaey Sanders, my favorite actor teacher
“Look at the way they interact with their hallucinations and delusions. The way they talk to it and see it. Whether they know it or not, their disease causes them to have faith to see something that’s not there and react towards it as though it exists, yet live real in the moment under imaginary situations.
Joel Brown, Insight from a movie with a character talking about schizophrenia
In contrast, "The nightmare of schizophrenia is not knowing what's real. Imagine… if you had suddenly learned that the people and the places… and the moments most valuable to you… were not gone, not dead, but worst had never been. What kind of hectic would that be."
Dr. Rosen, a character in the movie, ‘A Beautiful Mind’
But on the other hand, "Then, I look at him and I force myself to see the man that I married and he becomes that man. He's transformed into someone that I love. And I'm transformed into someone who loves him."
Alicia, a character in the movie, ‘A Beautiful Mind’
